Hi guys. I wonder if anyone can give me an opinion of a german shopfront on Amazon.
I've been looking at lenses they're listing and they're all being sold as used-like new, though oddly under each price it says *Brandneue Produkte !!*. I'm still fairly new to photography and have only bought my gear from mpb in brighton a couple of months ago who have great used prices and service. This shopfront has prices for lenses I'm considering but which seem too cheap and wondering if I should be suspicious or if you'd be suspicious. I haven't mentioned them because I don't want people thinking I'm trying to plug someone. Shall I mention the shopfront?

Whether an Amazon merchant shopfront or not......... if it sounds too good the be true, it probably is!!!

As far as I was aware all(?) such merchant shopfront have a direct web presence behind them. Maybe drill down and see whether there are any independent reviews for that company?

Thanks. Well I've put their name into google and they're coming up under amazon uk and amazon.de and a few other .de sites. No reviews. There's no website for them but they're listed on the right side of the google page with an address and phone number and part of their address says technology park. So, sounds legit?

Hmm! a technology park office can just be a rental mailing address......maybe have a gander at the building on Google Street view.

I still stick with caveat emptor approach... i.e treat with caution until proven otherwise!

I agree. They're based in Frankfurt. Well, their company name is showing up on google maps in Frankfurt so that's positive. I clicked on the little man to go into streetview and it's taken me into a business park. I can't actually move forward in this park, can only rotate. I can't see their name from where I am. However, there's a big hoarding of another company where I'm placed which says European Community, Business and Innovation Centre, Technologiezentrum. And the little man is pointing towards this building. So the Amazon company is obviously within that building. My feeling is that the amazon company is genuine. But still, I'll hold back for now.

I think some Amazon accounts have been hacked, particularly in Germany, not long ago I seen a Leica Q at a ridiculously low price on a German Amazon store, they seemed to specialise in gardening equipment. I messaged the seller and it turned out they had their account compromised..

I recently had a similar thing with some guitars that were being sold for knock-off prices. Sounds dodge

I'd avoid them if I were you. Generally these used-like new sellers are buying CE retailer customer returns, including Amazon warhouse stock, and either passing them off as new or selling them like this. You could just buy the Amazon return yourself and cut out the middle man. That being said looking at all the listing for this seller it does have hallmarks of a hacked or scam seller.
In any event I'd avoid them if I were you.

Thanks all, I shall avoid them!
