German Tourist In Oban

Great portrait study of an interesting looking bloke. Rob

Love it.

Great portrait

McCaig's Folly is recognisable enough to 'place' the shot yet OOF enough to keep the eye on the subject.

Cheers Rob & Phil.
Asked the guy if I could take a shot, as his wife was busy snapping anything that moved / didn't move, and he was just waiting for her to run out of memory. He did have that "I'll just gaze into space" pose about him, but what can you do

I must say Charles, you are one of the photographers on TP that I look forward to seeing new work from. Rob

Hi Keith
The shot has been played with. I shot in raw and tried to improve it.
I was looking to darken shot, except around eyes to pull viewer to them.
Was I successful ?

Here is shot straight out camera, just resized for forum.
EXIF
SS 1/320, f/4.8, ISO 200

good portrait, are you sure he is German.

Is the HH on his hat significant. and the Cross.

I much prefer the first example you showed.

Hell, I'm positive - he was just heading down to the pool to check his towel was still on his lounger :D

that is a superb effort. Don't touch the colours! :D

Stuart

Cheers Stu
Haven't heard from you for a while - How's the thesis going ?

"HH" = Think he picked the hat up at Happy Harry's bar

Cheers Christine and Rob (y)

I think your straight out of camera shot is the better, Charles ... and tends to vindicate what I have long suspected, that shooting RAW is for boffins! :geek:

bad choice of hat initials if he is..!............:exit:

sorry Chuck

BTW another good capture ...where DO you find the time..?

I was wondering about that, too.
Perhaps some things are best left unsaid:LOL:

Think you're all getting a bit paranoid - I'd trust my old Jewish granny with that lad anytime.

"BTW another good capture ...where DO you find the time..?" - Got a little time on my hands at present, John.

Oh, Cheers all for comments.
Looking at the first (edited shot) on my other monitor it looks very dark
