Getting 8gb CF Card in Classic 1d

Hello alll!

Got a 8CF card and want to use it in my 1D! Looking online and have been told it works and that it doesn't..

Anyone know if i can get the full 8GB working?
 
I have tried it but it seem's to think that its only 2gb :(

Any ideas on fommating differently or anything? That Card works great in a 350D and my 300D
 
Seem to remember when I had mine it won't work as it's something to do with how the camera reads the card and FAT32.

The 1ds is too old to read FAT32 and can only read certain sectors.
Google should give you a better explanation....

It is a firmware issue that will never likely get fixed. They didn't support anything over 2gb

try to move over to mk2 even if you have to sell all three bodies. I should be worth it.

I wish i could! But only the 300D and the 1D Mk1 are mine! The 350D is my fathers!

I've spent 450 on the 2 bodys, and buying a Mk2 at around 700 is way to much right now :(

Need to buy more Glass First :D
