Hi,

Took this photo during the winter snow we had and was wondering how easy it would be to enlarge to say, A3 size without losing to much detail.

Before i get that done, is there a simple way of smoothing out the snow around the base of the tree?

would like to get it either mounted and hung in my new house that ill be buying next year, or printed with no mount/border

presuming the original is a lot larger then crop it in software to a3 or upload to somewhere like www.photobox.co.uk and crop using there online ordering system... the software will tell you if it will be a good print.. easy peasy

You can smooth out the snow in Photoshop using a blur filter but if it was my photo I'd leave it as it is to add texture to the shot.

Nice picture BTW :)

looks great as it is
some extra contrast may add punch
and if you want soft snow use noise reduction software...it will soften everything else so a bit of final sharpening to make the branches crackle

i like your choice of tree...trees are my favourite

Original shot was 13.3mb in RAW format.

edit: thats for the comments on the photo, its the one i am most proud of.
