Getting into Filters...

Hi All,

I got my 700D/40mm setup with the primary use of family photos etc., but have a Sigma 10-20mm (77 dia) zoom which I love. My landscape photography leaves a lot to be desired, and a while ago I experimented with Cokin filters 'A' Size on my nifty 50. Landscape photography would be fairly rare (fair to say I'm a newbie in that area), so don't want to spend heaps on filters but I know that the Cokin A is too small for the Sigma. Question is what to get - is Cokin 'P' size the way forward? I would be looking at ND filters (solid & gradiated), and a circular polariser. Would be looking to use them on both the Sigma and 40mm Canon prime. I guess for long exposure I need a cable shutter release too?

Any ideas greatly appreciated!

Many thanks, Simon

Sorry - I should add - is a circular polariser best as a separate screw-in to have on-camera as a walkabout for most of the time as opposed to one that slots into a holder?
