Getting Photos/Article quickly to Media?

[Wigster]

Hi all, I was just pondering about if I were to be at the "right" place at the right time, say a weird event, like a ufo landing, just for example.

What is the best way to quickly get the photo and / or article to the media, is there a list of E-mail addresses for the popular news sites anywhere, or do you submit it to reuters?

p.s I don't actually have anything to submit, I just realise it's better to know now, than trying to find out if the time occurs when there is something I want to submit.

Your inputs are appreciated .

have a look here

or buy a copy of the freelance handbook, it carries contact details for all the newspapers and many different magazines listed by content

usually for images you need to check terms with the pic editor and make sure when you submit the image it has all of the IPTC Metadata correctly filed out
