getting your sensor cleaned?

i have a couple of Nikon D3 bodies that are due a clean and ive noticed a few dot on images with alot of plain background in.
Any sugestions where is good and cheap for a clean?

appreciate you are up north but nikon hq in kingston offer free service to their customers (pro that is)..i have D2 & D3 which im due to take in soon...while you wait service in person at least

i bought both bodies second hand, so not covered?

to qualify you need x2 bodies and x2 lenses (i think) from a list on their website

Chris, Calumet in Manchester do it while you wait every Friday morning, You do need to book it in though, Ive never used them but i too am desperate for it to be done

I had one of my boddies cleaned at Calumet in Manchester the other week. Good and quick service.

Do learn to do it yourself. Sensor dust is a fact of life with DSLR's and if you're always going to get it cleaned professionally then two things are going to happen...

1) it'll cost a fortune.
2) the camera will be at the dealers longer than it's with you.

It's not rocket science, just take it easy and you'll be fine. You do need a rocket blower and some swabs and cleaning fluid. But most of the time the rocket blower will sort it anyway.

im a bit clumsy when it comes to fixing/cleaning things, so best not to mess about with them and damage something.

I should say I got mine done because it was done free. I will be getting some swaps or pecpads and fluid when it needs doing next.

devon camera do it so I guess other good camera shops will as well

I bought cleaning stuff and it was the most stressful half hour of my life, I also used 10 swabbs

Need to have another go
