Spurred on by the quality gig shots being posted here recently I thought I'd post up a few of my own. As all my gear has been bought with the advice/classified adverts off this forum, it may be of interest to a few forumites.

All taken with a 350d and 50mm f1.8. Obviously after 3 months I've still got a lot to learn but I'm happy with progress so far!

I wont be shooting any more bands this year so I guess this is a kind of my favourites from 2008 post.

Good set! Some nice action ones there :) What were Cage the Elephant like? A friend told me they were really good when they saw them.

How long you been doing gigs? I love it! Its mental, but when the action and lighting comes together its all worth it :D

Cage the elephant are a great band to photograph very animated and energetic, plus that was outdoor and in daylight so the conditions were easier. Couple more of them here:

I've been doing gigs for 3 months now, but I'm looking for a wider lens to get more band interaction, and possibly something a bit longer cause drummers can hide from a 50mm! Sigma 24-70 F2.8 is top of the list

hey not bad at all for 3 months! The conditions are challenging so you obviously got a knack for it. I can definitely reccomend the 10-20, the distortion is pretty cool for the band stuff as well. Yer bloomin' drummers hiding up the back  lol

Great shots there, you should be very happy with them. (y)

The Max Raptor shot stands out for me. :)

No way! The Swamis are a local band for me! haha.
All from the same town as me! :D

Awesome shots too. Really sharp!

Cheers, Swamis are a cool band.

2 acoustic guitars and drums, at the end of that gig both guitarists had snapped a string.

Which show was this at? My dream is to photograph Biffy Clyro!! Maybe one day.

I was at the Manchester gig on Friday, crushed against the barrier, in awe at the amazingness of the entire show.

Biffy have probably the worst lighting of the bands ive ever shot, its so ***** and unbelievably tough!

Yeah, lots of reds, blues and lots of darkness. Still I hope to shoot one of their gigs one day. It's an ambition of mine (I'm a huge fan). I did try to get a photo pass for last week but no luck:crying:

Lighting wasn't the best as the Doctor says

Very good!! Talking of wider......think I'm about to hit "add to basket"" on a Tamron 17-50mm f2.8.

This was the excellent advice I got from here:

Thanks, I've reserved the Sigma 24-70 F2.8 as I wanted something a bit longer as well.

Great set there. Really captures the energy of the shows. Well done(y)
