What do you think of this combination for equipment that weighs close to 5kgs? (camera, grip and telephoto lens)?

Anything else you would recommend for a similar amount of money? (around £200)?

You don't say what kit it is exactly but from weight and brief description it indicates a decent size long lens.
The Giottos tripod I think is hard to beat for the money, it has more than enough weight capacity and will work at a decent height without any centre column extension. The Manfrotto 393 I think is one of the most underrated options for holding a camera and long lens there is available - ive seen Canon and Nikon both using them at major exhibitions to demo there long lens 'exotica', and people who have used them seem more than happy - oh, and a fraction of the price of a Wimberley.
The other ball head is a simple but effective tool that will work well on a monopod, in fact I think its possible that Giottos do a quick release plate adapter that will convert the MH7000 to use the same size plate as the Manfrotto 393 - save messing about with changing plates.

IMO I think you'll be hard pushed to find a tripod with the capability (weight and height capacity) and a head better suited to a camera/lens set up like that.
I see both brands are exhibiting at the SWPP show this weekend - don't know where you're based, maybe worth getting along if you can to have a look.

Unfortunately due to the weather, after I registered and received my passes and everything, I might not be able to go to London for the show :(

I will probably order the items above then if I do not get any other suggestions today.

Got all 3 after all.
Quick comments:

1. MTL9271B: HUGE compared to my Sherpa Velbon 550R. Very well build and lighter than I thought.

2. Manfrotto 393. What a difference from a conventional 3-way head. I can move the 7D+300mm f2.8 lens using a finger!!!

3. MH7000-652 Ball head. Only tries it briefly on my monopod. Seems very sturdy but need to test it more.

Overall very happy with my choices.
