Anyone got one or used one? A forum search turned up just one result and I've PMed the poster - now I'm just wondering if anyone else had got one in the meantime?

Mainly after one as a travel tripod and it'll probably mainly be used for longish exposures (startrails etc) in relatively still conditions, with a D700 and a 24-70 f/2.8 or 12-24 mounted. I'll probably go for the aluminium version unless the CF one is significantly lighter or sturdier. Whichever I get, it'll be more travel friendly than my Manfrotto 190 and 322 head.

There is a review here

I've just ordered the carbon one. The review does say that there is a trade off of sturdiness for weight but then, the best tripod is the one you've got with you. I plan to use mine with my E3 and various lenses (mainly 7-14 and 50-200).

Thanks for that. Reading that review has put me off a bit - sounds like it can be slow to erect and may not be as stable as my current solution of a GorillaPod SLR Zoom wrapped around something solid.

I may have to have a look in town to see if anyone stocks them then see if they will price match or at least get close to the price I've seen them at from Parks Cameras.

Staffitaxi has one, I don't know if she's the poster you refer to?

Looking at them at Focus this year I was very impressed; the stability was what you'd expect from a lightweight tripod and more than capable of holding what you list (I'd never consider using a tripod fully extended - as in extending the centre column). IIRC it can also use another head if you decide you want to. I was tempted myself but as I had spend lots on a D3s I wasn't spending anything more

I'm going to have to have a look at one in person before splashing out, I think! Don't think the Devon Camera Centre stock them but LCE might.
