Not a fan of the photos personally, although I do think the idea in the first shot has potential of being something rather good. If I was you, I'd experiment with that shot, trying to get the light balance on either side of the label to a 1:1 ratio. Should have a cracking result then.

Have you thought of painting around the tall wine glass? (in a spiral?)

It's a start with the potential as has been mentioned but another thing to keep in mind is that you need to make sure that the glass you use is spotlessly clean, when ever I do stuff like this I spend at least 5 minutes cleaning the glass
