where did you learn from?

Before I answer your question, let me tell you a true story.
Last year, I felt I was going nowhere and in no direction with my photography. I was at the point where I was taking fewer and fewer pictures, and not enjoying myself at all. I expressed these feelings on another forum and a member recommended her experienced mentor.
My PM to him was the most significant step I had ever taken to further my photography skills. Since then, I have had regular mentoring sessions that covered important information such as camera settings, shooting, lighting, layouts, post production, artistic intent, etc. I discovered that my knowledge base has grown exponentially.
Although the lessons were based on what I brought to the table and asked to learn, we covered many other topics - and I even learned things that I did not think that I needed to know! The above images are a part of my growth. After I had a few basics about glasswork, I shot the cut glass vase as homework, then the wineglass was work we did in sessions. There is another set beyond this involving an actual wine pour that I will save for later.
