Godox Studio Flash Heads

Yes
I'm looking to expand the lighting equipment for my studio and I'm after some advice on what flash heads to get.
I'm mainly doing portraits, newborn, family and children and some product photography now and then.

I'm already partially invested on Godox, I have one of the AD600 along with the trigget, so I might stay with them.
This time I will only be using the kit on the studio so mains powered is fine.
I'm looking at getting two extra lights, any recommendations? Godox have such a large range!

Any other brands worth looking at?

PS - I do not have budget for any Profoto or other crazy expensive equipment :)

Depending on your trigger, you might not be able to adjust the lights remotely.
I don’t think the pro does the decimal no’s for the studio lights.
Some newer lights do the fractions, and some of the triggers will control both types.

If you already have the AD600 you could add an AC adaptor to it, add further Godox lights and stay with the same trigger

Mike

Yes, I'm keeping the AD600 with the AC adaptor but I want to add more lights. Godox have many and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with any of the QT,QS, DP, GS....series, they have so many!

I have the XPro.

Choice is one of the problems with Godox - too much of it, but there are no lemons in the range. They basically break down in to broadly different categories, such as basic entry-level voltage regulated, more advanced conventional voltage-regulated, IGBT-regulated high-speed heads, and battery-powered IGBT (with a lot of choice within that category).

From what you've said, the basic entry-level units are very good and perfectly capable. Just ensure compatibility with your remote control/trigger (no problem with newer models I don't think). Don't know how picky you are, but if you're working at low power settings, the voltage-regulated units tend towards warm, whereas IGBT shifts to blue and that may be noticeable when mixing heads (assuming softboxes are also the same/neutral).

Well, generally I agree with this, but there ARE a few lemons to avoid, although most of them are re-branded Neewer or similar.
These are the 'legacy' flash heads of years ago, still sold, mainly on ebay and amazon.

Any specific recommendation of the current line up @Garry Edwards , please?

I am going to disagree with this, it makes no sense to step back generations when adding new gear
It has a built in 2.4 receiver, and is current generation - it doesn't have batterry power, IGBT or HSS (none of which are needed for this type of work) but I don't see how you can say that it is stepping back in generations:)
