Literally what I will be taking, please advise me on anything extra which I should buy, filters, batteries etc...

What I have to take:
60D
50mm f1.8 + UV filter
18-55 non IS
baby tripod (literally 5cm one :| )
A 8gb class 10 card

What I'll buy:
A tripod hopefully
Maybe an 18-135
A bag
Another memory card

For tripods I'm looking at the RedSnapper RS-284. Will this be good enough to take? Small enough to carry, light and able to take on a plane with me?

Any bags which people recommend for the above equipment?

I want to make sure I have the right equipment for my first holiday with my DSLR :). Thanks
 
Swap the 18-135 for a 15-85. Better quality :) RFedsnapper - yup... if you really feel you need a tripod they're great, I'd go with the ball head though over the 3-way..
 
I would get another memory card never can have enough memory (as they say) not sure if your going abroad but if you are maybe a travel plug adapter so you can charge the battery over night....
 
An extra battery if you don't already have one.

Where are you going on holiday and how will you travel when there?

Remember that carrying a lot of gear gets to be a pain after a while.

A tripod is great if you will need it for low light work - if not, try a beanbag which is much lighter.

Are you able to leave some gear in a hotel / guest house safely while out and about?

Will you have someone to help carry gear, water, snacks etc?

Don't carry too much so that it become a burden that means you'll not enjoy the holiday. On my last couple of trips (France and Yorkshire) I had a car which meant I could leave much gear safe while I was out and about.

Yeah another one is on the cards.

Camera is from USA so I don't need the adapter although I'll have plenty for other products :)

Don't think I really need one as I won't be snapping enough in a day to rinse the battery!

Mexico, rarely leaving the resort tbh as its all inclusive and its one hotel, with 3 hotels in it, a buggy is needed to go around the place its so big.

Think I deffo want a tripod, will the one posted above be sufficient? Will it be strong enough and small/light enough for the plane and general carrying?

Not sure how safe it is but there will be a small safe there, don't know if my camera will fit yet

The misses I guess. Although we are leaving the hotel around 6 times in the 2 weeks there and will only take the camera on one of those outings (to the city)
