Going to have a go at this welding glass stuff, have i got this right?

Ok, I fancy a bash at this welding glass stuff and im just looking at what i need, have i got this right?

The lens im likely to use is 24-105L

I believe i need a 77 filter holder - correct?

If im right so far, do i attach the glass to the adaptor ring or the actual holder?

Just buy the ring and superglue the glass to it, you don't need the holder as it is difficult to light seal it.

or buy the holder and the ring and don't go near super glue (this will limit your ability to use multiple filters for a start). slot the filters in to the holder and get a cut sock or old trouser leg to put round the filter as desired.
