Goldfinch question - no pics yet!

Near to my workshop is a large area of thistles & I've already seen Goldfinches there.

My question is, do they prefer the older seed heads, that have burst open, or the younger, more complete ones?

I want to position myself in the best place for a shot.

Goldfinch arent fussy eaters, they will just eat anything in their path and move on.

is it possible for you to set a hide up there? if so ,then, that would be your best bet...

get some nyger seed and sprinke into the thistle heads

i tried it and made the guessing a little easier although they still did there own thing too

Not a permanent one. I'll be sitting under some camo netting & being quiet & patient....again!
