Taken near Thomas Telfords' Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (support pillar in the background) a couple of miles from Llangollen on the River Dee in N. Wales. 18-55mm IS Kit Lens.

C&C please....esp composition re: Rule of thirds etc....

I tried to get the angler in the right hand third - I also wanted the overhanging trees in shot so cropped accordingly. Did I get it right or wrong?

Thanks

did you have any filters on when taking this image?

there seems to be cast on the water surface and also on the closest support

Hi thanks for the reply

What's happened there is I'd cocked up the WB setting and it had a green tinge to the photo. I corrected it in PS but did a global change and never noticed the cast on the reflection etc... <doh!....>

What do you think about the actual compostion of the pic though....? I'm not 100% sure on how the rule of thirds works tbh...

For example in the pic below.

If I wanted the fly on the leaf to be the focus. Would I leave the fly where it is or move it so the grid line No 2 is sort of dissecting the fly in the image to observe the rule of thirds?

Cheers
