Good compact with articulating lens?

Hi, I'm looking for a decent compact with a decent sized sensor, good IQ, and adaptability (PASM). The problem is, it has to be pocketable, but also have a an articulating screen (not lens as i wrote in the title..d'oh). At present, i use a Lumix FZ100 for my point and shoot, its size is just bit of a pain though, so often end up leaving it at home.

I've been looking at Samsungs EX2f, and Sony's NEX-3N. The sony seems to be the better of the two, but i'm unsure of its size, as the kit lens still seems quite bulky.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

What about something like the G12/15/16/1x? Small but powerful compact camera. I have the G12 and what I loved was the independent controls for iso/EV/aperture/shutter. Won't fit into a trouser pocket but will fit into a jacket pocket.

....Only one solution if you want true pocket-size and also tilting LCD (features I also need in my compact's life) - Sony RX100 II. Shoots RAW too. Has a big 1" sensor and Carl Zeiss glass.

I tried it out in a shop yesterday and will be getting one rather than upgrading my much loved and heavily used FinePix F500EXR to a F900EXR.

It needs the extra option of a grip but is superb and I have seen stunning results posted on a photoforum but forget if it's this one.

Relatively expensive but delivers everything a true compact could do and so worthwhile if you'll use it a lot.

Also complimentary to a DSLR for when shooting missions which are more planned.
 
I have the Samsung EX1 and it is fantastic, great image quality, fully manual, and the rear screen is top notch and articulates 360 degrees. I believe EX2 is even better.
The build quality is excellent as well, a little tank.

....Clearly an excellent compact but I reckon just a bit too large to be carrying around easily for 365 days a year, especially in hotter weather when you'll only be wearing lightweight trousers and a T-shirt. BUT, it is do-able and so I reckon a strong contender - Just too big for my needs.
 
Spending that much on a camera, I wouldn't just slip it in a pocket anyway as I would probably sit on it or I would be forever worried about it falling out!

....I agree and I wouldn't carry ANY camera in a pocket - They can fall out too easily too if the pocket is open. Which is why I always carry my FinePix F500EXR (exactly same size as my Sony RX100 II to come) in a pouch on my trousers belt.
 
The Sony is a nice camera and the Nikon is a bit of a bruiser compared to it, but I prefer something I can get a proper hold of!

....Absolutely! How any camera feels in our hand to operate is enormously important - It needs to become a tactile extension of ourselves as a means of expressing how we individually see something.

For me, a true 'compact' size camera such as my FinePix F500EXR and (soon!) the RX100 II is perfect. But so does the Canon 70D feel a perfect size for my use too.

We each have different preferences about what is most comfortable to use.
