Good Filters

B+W or Hoya are probably the best, but not cheap, especially for 77mm.
Hoya actually do a few different ones. I THINK the HD ones are the best.

Prices vary a great deal too, depending where you buy them, so shop around. Be careful of ones that are too cheap from China though, there are`copies` produced.
(I read that if the case has the bar-code printed & on the inside label, they're fakes, whereas the kosher ones have a label stuck on the outside of the case)
 
I've seen them for sale @ £170+ UK, but £89 from UK digital isn't too bad.

That sure is a good price though Gordon.
 
Very pleased with my Heliopan 77mm slim CPL. Beautifully made in brass and has very useful markers.

I also tried the B&W kaesemann CPL but sent it back as it was alloy and very nearly got stuck on my lens. It was also really fiddly to turn when fitted.

Anyone tried the Lee variant, I am thinking to go with Lee for this and ND grads.

I can't imagine there is much wrong with it, but I'd be concerned about potential vignetting with some lenses. When I use my 24-70 or 17-40 I can only have a holder of 2 slots and perhaps 1 regular filter (pushing it) before I see black corners. An extra ring could be a problem sometimes, not that you'd use CPL on WA too often

Isn't the Lee 105mm and fitted via a ring in front of the grad holder? If you're feeling flush the B+W Kasemann 105 MC is a bit nice.

They are. This adds up to extra height of Lee holder, and therefore more chance of vignetting on too wide lenses.
 
You can also use the 105mm as a standalone cpl via a step down ring. When you dont want to use it in conjunction with the lee holder and filters.

No vignetting at 16mm (11mm APSC) here. I even place the Lee filter holder on top of the ND110. No vignetting unless you're shooting with a fishy lens I reckon. At 105mm I think it's hard to catch the ring/filter tbh.
