I've been very fortunate in my time here on TP to have met some wonderful photographers and even more importantly some wonderful people.
I remember the first time I met Gary, and Woodsy, Gandhi and Blapto.
It was in a layby in Torridon, Wester Ross and almost a year ago now. We had the most fabulous time and even though I was the only female in a group of males I never once felt out of place. I've always felt welcome in their presence and I would do anything I could to help any one of them if I could. We had a fabulous few days racketing around in the snow laden Highlands on our first landscape trip together.
I've been privileged to watch Gary as he appeared on here with a bagful of high end Nikon gear and I know he won't mind when I say he did not have a clue how to use it! But, (and here is the but.) I have seen him mature as a photographer, I have seen him engage with it as a passion and now he is setting off on a journey to do it professionally.
So I would just like to take a moment to wish him all the very best of luck with his new venture. I'm lucky to call Gary a friend as others here do now too. He's a bundle of fun, a ball of energy and one of the most honest and down to earth people I know.
Gary, thanks for the year, here's to many more and my very best wishes to you and your family as you set out on your journey.
Now go and enjoy it!
