What shops would you all recommend to look around in East Anglia, Berkshire, Bucks or London?
I've only really been to a few local ones, but it would be nice to look around and try out gear with a big selection of options.

Any ideas or suggestions would be great!

I think there is a wex in Norwich (head office maybe) and in London Grays of Westminster is superb (Nikon only but do 'pods n bags too).

Wex, the original one before they bought Calumet, is opposite the big ASDA on the Norwich Ring road. Lots of goodies to tempt the locals.... here speaketh one such local

Norwich is an excellent city for a day out, too. But of course I'd say that... good eats, drinks and sights to try out some of that camera gear!

second that, love Norwich

Wex showroom in commercial Road (A13) few minutes from Aldgate East station. Flashy camera showroom and reasonable selction of bags and Pods, not so much in accessories

Camera World (chelmsford) is ok but not alot to browse or near Oxford circus Station (london) more browsing, lots of bags

Jessops Oxford street, more accessories but few cameras

London Camera Exchange near the Strand very small, lots of used lenses. think Aladdin cave old fashioned shop

Anywhere you can recommend SsSsSsSnake?

There's a Camera World in London, too, at 14 Wells Street. Not too far from there is Park Cameras at 53 Rathbone Place, and at 17 Rathbone Place is Aperture Photographic where, I believe, you can also get a coffee. They're all within walking distance of Jessops at 129 Oxford Street. While you're on or near Oxford Street, it might be worth popping up to the 5th floor of John Lewis at 300 Oxford Street, as they have a nice range of cameras and gear there. Oh, and London Camera Exchange is at 96 Strand, near the Savoy Hotel.

Is there anything in particular you are interested in ?

Most of the shops I use in London have already been mentioned. If you're going to check out the Nikon gear at Gray's, Mr Cad is a couple of streets away, and has one of the larger secondhand selections in London. Aperture's sister shop (at the original site in Museum Street) is now The Camera Museum, which is rather fun to visit, quirkily combining a cafe, a shop specialising in Hasselblads, and (you guessed it) a little museum in the basement.

Park cameras in London Tottenham Court Road are good. Seem to have most of the latest gear out and often reps on hand from various manufacturers to give demos.

I would like to try out a few bodies and see how they work with some camera apps, and try out some equipment like gimbals and tripod collars.

I'll definitely try and get to norwich though to look around!
