Hi,
I recently bought an HP Photosmart D7260 printer after reading some good reviews on it and seeing that it also came top in a test in one of the older Photoplus magazines with regards to photo quality and cost. I managed to pick one up for £70 at oyyy.co.uk with next day delivery and I also bought a CIS kit for mine of that auction website which works great and there's no difference in print/photo quality that I can see of compared to using the original supplied HP cartridges that came with the printer.
I sometimes need quick printouts of snapshots, which is ideal with this printer as you can print straight from the memory card slot and see them on the built in touch screen and edit them(although not quite as much as you could with using Photoshop and a PC/MAC) I also like the 2 seperate compartment trays for paper, one for 6x4 and one for everything else...saves time changing over sizes of paper..I also have mine linked via my router for network printing so I can use any of the 3 laptops I have in my house and print wirelessy and also via bluetooth from my mobile(you need a bluetooth dongle for this to work) which I had an old one lying around doing nothing till now that is ;-)
Since showing my printer off, 3 members of my family and 2 other friends have all gone out and bought one along with the CIS kit and they now no longer bother going to Tesco's to get their enlargements/general snaps printed out as I managed to source some cheap good quality photo glossy paper as well which has made home photo printing now affordable.
Overall I'm very happy with the HP printer, I had an HP all in one(scanner, fax etc) before and it was O.K but not fantastic....Text quality was always a let down...now however I have a printer which does most things asked of it..for me anyway that is!!
Michael.
