Ebay is probably the best place for bargain hunting. Kood may be more affordable and it gives fairly good colours and visual impact. It is not great for ultra-wideangles on full frame, but works well on crop or standard to longer lenses on FF. I also have Hoya green series for 70-200 and am not impressed at all. It gives a minimal effect and has weak colours. Maybe more expensive Hoya Pro series or Sigma EX or B+W would be better but you have to research this and wait for bargain.
Maxsaver.net seems to be where the place for getting polarizers nowadays. I've got a Hoya Pro-1 but the yellow tint is extremely obvious in most shooting conditions - very disappointing. I don't know if thats a normal of a high end polarizer but I'll definitely not buy another Hoya polarizer again regardless of how great their other filters are.
I think that I would have to agree with the £30... Unless you get a 2nd hand jobbie from ebay...
Must admit that you do get a good service @ Crooked Imaging, ole Simon there is such a helpful chappie - he's helped me out out a few times in the past and does exactly what he say's he will do...
