so as you can see from the title im looking for a good tripod for my Nikon D3000 nothing overly expensive but im not a cheap skate haha thanks people

Before you rush out to get a tripod think where you will be using it most. I would consider for studio work a heavy Manfrotto but for walking with something a bit lighter.
Couple of pointers if I may, check the load the tripod will carry against the weight of your camera/len/flashgun combined weight, when testing tripods extend them fully with the camera on top. A weak tripod will cause sever camera shake with shutter slap when in this position, it is suprising how much can occur. I use a Manfrotto 055XPROB which is as solid as a rock.
Do budget for a tripod head as well, I have the 322RC2 Manfrotto head but recently purchased the Manfrotto 804RC2 head which not only has the 3 way action but also turns 360% on the same level plane which you need for panoramic shots if doing picture stitching . I now prefer this head to the other pistol grip first mentioned.
Just one other point,you may want to use it at ground level as well so just check to see if this is possible as some tripods can't get that low.
