I have been using Google Chrome for some time, being reasonably happily and this is not a request for people to suggest that I should be using IE or Firefox etc, as having used all three, I have found that for me every browser has some limitations or compromise.
What I have noticed recently (the last month or two) is that Google Chrome on certain websites uses an increasing amount of memory. As Google Chrome is automatically updated to the latest version I cannot be 100% certain on what version this started, it appears to only occur on certain sites, ones that have a large picture content or use Java script, so this includes Talk photography, Ebay and other sites where the content is constantly being updated.
For example, this morning I have several tabs open, and after browsing on TP for an hour or so the memory usage has increased to over 500,000k whereas most normal tabs only use between 5,000 to ~ 50,000k
As you can see here:
The "simple solution" is to close down the offending tabs every few hours and start again which reclaims the memory, but must admit it is getting a little frustrating as by hogging so much memory it does slow my PC down tremendously and wonder if anyone else has noticed this or even worked out a magic cure?

ps It has been reported on the Google Chrome developers forum and I assume at some point a correction will be incorporated in a later release, but it has been a couple of months now..............
pps Running Windows XP (all service packs / drivers up to date) on a semi ancient P4 2.2ghz with 1.5gb Ram - Google Chrome version 5.0.375.99 - has been un-installed and re-installed just in case.
