Google Errors on forums

Having megga problems this evening with IE locking up displaying a "waiting for" message to do with Googleads doubleclick in the bar along the bottom of the screen.

This is the message it hangs on



This is on a fairly old PC running Win XP pro, which until this evening has worked perfectly with TP.

Please help, had to nuke the PC to turn it off, now using Win 7 laptop without problems.

Got same issue, am running whatever windows cam between xp and 7, the carp ops system!! Seems to be taking a while to load....

I've had google ads 'disabled' for ages using the windows hosts file. Didn't even know they appeared here.

you can ad other 'ad' sites in the hosts file too as long as you follow the same format

Not 100% on this, but you might want to run something like spybot...I'm sure things like that were a symptom of a root-kit that was on one of the machines at Gravy Towers...

Thank you - I follwed the instructions and the problem has gone away, or perhaps it was the massive "update" the computer did without asking me earlier today.

Either way my TP surfing experience has returned to it's normal speedy bliss.
