Beginner Got smudge on my lens

hi guys

Was out with my english bulldog taking some snaps and he was running and his nose touched my lens.

Am i ok to use mt wifes glasses cleaner and a glasses cloth?

Its a 18-55mm nikon kit lens that came with my d3300

I don't think I'd want my spectacles cloth put to this purpose! In case it happens again, why not buy a 'screen cleaner' set from Poundland? You get the spray-on liquid, a cloth and a little brush. Your doggie will come up a treat!

I would suggest you get a lens hood, it should help protect the front lens element without affecting image quality.
