Yes
:woot: I finally got a Nikon 28-70mm f2.8 with all the responses I had from a previous thread... to those who helped by the way- much appreciated..

Now I have one (well it's hopefully arriving tomorrow) to compliment my D300s & hopefully its a good investment if I ever have the sudden urge to upgrade to FF (that would be well into the future as most cameras I've owned where mostly owned for 6mths then upgraded to the next model)..

Anyhow, should I get a filter for it to protect the end or just leave the humungus lens hood on the front for protection.. As all lenses I have owned & own do have/had a filter on the front mainly to protect the glass...

So, after my last sentence I should really get a filter - which one would be the best to get... I welcome all responses as hopefully some of those who have/had this lens could recommend a good'un as well....

Cheers:thumbs:

I use a Hoya Pro1D on my 24-70mm, Amazon marketplace had some reasonable prices, about £60 to £80 if I remember rightly.

Yes - but then I would say that...
Get a Nikon one or a Hoya Pro...

I was thinking of the Hoya pro1...

 But was wondering after many people have a thing about them or was that coz they where brought from ebay...

I thought the same thing Rev, ;)

I buy mine from Warehouse Express...not much chance of a 'hookey' one from them...

I wouldn't buy one from eBay but bought mine from Camera King on Amazon Market Place, ended up buying 3, a single CP and ND8 filter all from Camera King.

 to you all....

So the Hoya Pro 1 - any particular version ie protector, Super, DMC, HMC, HMV ;) or any version subject to my budget...
