Just a quick question how many people on here use a gps device to tag there photos ? and why ?

I do. I like to be able to locate where a picture was taken, which is usually in some odd part of the world. I also like to take photos out of aeroplanes, both airliners and sight-seeing types of flights, and finding them on the map afterwards.

I'd be lost without it 
As I tend to travel a lot, it helps me to see what part of whichever country I've shot the picture at. Nice to be able to click on the picture in Lightroom and it taking me to Google Maps to show me the exact place where I was standing when taking that shot.
It also serves as proof that the shot was taken where I claim it was taken; in case some pinhead debates the authenticity etc.; mind, I've never had that issue come up.

Why makes more sense when you think about touring holidays and towns/places starting to look the same. With GPS you know exactly where that shot was taken.
Looking at your track log plotted on a map can be amusing too as you can see what a bad route you took either in transport or just walking round a town.

I have got a GP-1 on order from Nikon and will start using it straight away. I had a look at a few different ones, but the Nikon (overpriced?) looks like the least hassle to use. A couple that I saw, registered up to 1000 pics in the logger, then you have to download the data to the computer and load the data to the pictures at a later date - looks like far too much hassle, the GP-1 tags it straight away.
Basically it is a reaction to numerous customer's requests going back years. "Which corner was that taken at?" Is the most common question. (baring in mind I shoot at race circuits) So in future the customer can find out for themselves if they really want to.
