Still not sure how much I trust Archant but at leaset they've paid attention

The way I see it is this, they have a £4000 total prize pool for the 12 winners. Entrants will need to hand over usage rights of high res files they upload. Potentially Archant will be saving themselves a possible £100,000 in image licenses for the outlay cost of £4000 (total prize pool). The maximum anybody can win is £500 (6 top prize winners) or a £200 jacket (6 runners up). To me, that is a con and the kind of thing that means less image sales for anybody hoping to make a part living out of sales of their images.

Yup. 'Fraid so. It would be nice to imagine a future where this is not the case but I suspect we're stuck with it.
