I love these bits of luck!
About 6 months ago I bought a sigma lens for £600, paid over the phone (or so I thought).
The company sent the lens but never took any money!
Was yours a warranty repair?

gramps said:and that's exactly one of the reasons why the rest of us end up paying more for the product ... theft!
gramps said:Would the owner have consented to you taking the lens without paying for it? No!
You have obtained it by means of an error and it is theft, there is no excuse in law that says you can take other people's property 'by mistake'.
Even at this moment in time you could face criminal charges.
Which isn't going to happen because I'm happy to pay for the lens should the company call me and claim back the money
Maybe not and I accept it if you think I have the morals of a dog but I did call and I gave them my card details...they confirmed payment and then a 2 Weeks later I realised I had £600 more than I should of. Still waiting for them to call!
As I said, morally incorrect and I accept that...but either way it's still their fault they cocked up their transaction.
Lol come on now, you can't classify it as theft no matter how you don't like the situation.
I bought bought the lens from a shop and paid (or so I thought) over the phone. They said "yes sir that's all gone through we'll send it off tomorrow"...they did, I recieved, mysteriously I have an extra £600 in my bank account. They never called back to reclaim any money (which I can only assume they don't have) and so if this is the case they effectively gave me a lens - I have never said I wouldn't pay or that I stole.it from a shop. If a shop makes a mistake that doesn't mean it's theft. Perhaps morally incorrect for me not calling back to say "let me give you £600 that I have extra"...but not theft
And you pay extra for the item due to rise in the market (if there is a rise) you pay extra in INSURANCE for things that get stolen.
I think I'll stock to having the morals of a dog![]()

I am a firm believer in Khama. Although you didn't pay for the lens you will pay in some other way later on.
