Greek Islands Hols - Circular Polariser Worth Taking?

I've never used a polariser but we are Greek island hopping this summer and I would like your advice as to whether it will be worth getting hold of one. What do you think?

Yes - used at right angles to the sun it will make all the blues in the sky punchier and it will reduce reflections from water
Make sure it's a circular one and you know to rotate it!!!!!!

There are certainly times it will be useful, so yes. Just remember it's not a panacea and needs careful use - sometimes it can make things look unreal.

Yes, but watch out if you're using it at wide angle, it is possible, due to the wide field of view, to end up with a dark cross in the skies, which is a pig to remove in post.

Uneven polarisation is not that difficult to remove now, as I discovered . See this post -

Otherwise it may be possible to hide the over-polarised area behind broken clouds.

But definitely take a polariser with you!

Thanks for this thread! It's reminded me to dig out the pols for the Fuji lenses - some of them are still in the Nikon bag.
