True - but It does kill 2 birds with one stone thou... How often will you use the grey card compared to a microfibre cloth

can someone tell me why grey cards are so expensive?

one word - Calibration.

If you think that a 20 quid grey card is expensive, wait till you see how much a broadcast line-up chart costs...:runaway:

p.s.
the Lastolite ones are very handy.

Have you considered an Expodisc, there are expensive but in my opinion well worth the money, not only can you get the right exposure you can also set the correct white balance. Two jobs in one.

On the same subject is it true or false that the grey in a lowepro bag (which i have ) is 20% grey where as a grey card is 18%?

Do you mean this linky - Lowepro gray .... Althou it doesn't really state 20% all it states is that you could use it as a "gray card" (at the bottom of the page)
