Hi all,
Kind of a specific question but here goes:
I recently bought a Tamron 17-50 f2.8 from SimplyElectronics.net
Perhaps I didn't research thoroughly enough but rather than being a UK based company as they say, they are in fact based in Hong Kong.
(Just as an aside, all the bad things you may have heard about them are true. Might be a lot cheaper than elsewhere but 5 un-answered emails, hours on hold and a 6 week wait had me sweating).
Anyway, the question is: does anyone know if I can get any sort of warranty via Tamron with it being, I suppose, classed as a grey import? The lens didn't come with any paperwork to that effect, just a serial number.
Would Tamron UK touch it with a bargepole if the worst happened?
Cheers for any input.
Danny.
