If you fit a grip to your camera do you have to remove the battery door or do you leave it on?

What is the best 3rd party grip to go for, i have hear that the Link Delight ones are pretty good?

Stringy

You do have to remove the battery door but is is very easy to do, you can't go wrong.

I bought a Meike of here for £37.50 and it works a treat, came wth a spare battery and the AA tray as well, although don't plan on using the AA tray much lol.

The battery door is removed, but my grip (Opteka one for 400D) has a little holder for it, so you don't lose it :)

I'd assume the others do as well.

The Opteka one for the 400D seemed to get rave reviews, being cheaper than the official Canon one and coming with 2 batteries. Also, delivery from the USA was very quick, about 3 or 4 days.

On the 450D you remove the battery door.

I was originally going to go for the official Canon grip which retails on Amazon for roughly a ton. Yes, a hundred quid for a bit of plastic that holds batteries :cuckoo:

I then saw the Opteka one also on Amazon for half the price, with two batteries and an essentials kit (lens cloth, cleaning fluid etc.) and bought it. Very happy with it, certainly better priced by the Canon one and going by reviews they are almost identical - in fact some people reckon Opteka actually make the grips for Canon!

I bought a Phottix grip from ebay for about £50, the finish is not as quite good as the official Canon grip but it's much cheaper, has the same functionality and came with 2 extra batteries. All in all I was very happy with it and never go out without it.
