Grip

You tried Camera Price Buster and looked through those?

I'm sure Amazon had them in stock last time I looked. Assume you've tried Warehouse Express and Ian (Kerso)

Kerso's away at the moment but when he gets back, I'm sure he'll reply. I got my grip for my 40D from him.

Amazon.co.uk have 9 in stock....£199.99 each. Kerso will surely be a better option if you wait a week.

I and many others are very happy with Phottix grips.

This seller sells them, plus they are a LOT cheaper than genuine Canon.

I got my grip from that seller and there was no import duty to pay and it arrived in just over a week, came with 2 batteries too. Bargain!

Thanks for all helpful replies I have bitten the bullet and followed my instincts and gone with the Canon from Amazon. I usually buy from Ian but I am in desperate hurry for this.

Seems you're not too far from Ian's sister Heather. I wish I was. Have already made some provisional enquiries about being their official lens tester

I think you made the right choice, as the build quality will be better. My BG-E6 was made from aluminium.

Also, the supplied batteries won't communicate with the 5D Mk II, as to charge status etc.

Good value for money though, if you can accept the above :)

I'm just of the opinion that if you've spent that kind of money on a body, then you may as well go for something made by the same manufacturer for their particular product.....
