hi everyone

just wondering what D700 owners experiences/recommendations on Nikon/non-Nikon grips are?
 
Its all a personal thing same as filters & 3rd party batteries.....

Me personally would go for the Nikon (have done with filters, grips & batteries) MB-D10 but thats just me...

We are all different & have different budgets for equipment..
 
I went with the Meike one as I have owned the nikon and third party ones and I can not see the difference that warrants the huge cost difference.

Never had any issues with the Meike one and it is two years old and going strong. Save your money and get a 3rd party one and extra battery with the money you save.
 
I have tried a 3rd party grip and also own a Nikon MB-D10.
I wouldn't bother with the third party, whilst there are some good ones out there they mostly feel cheap. A good 3rd party isn't that much cheaper than a second hand Nikon item. The way I see it is that not much will go wrong with the grip so second hand is the best option. The battery grip makes the camera so much nicer to use.

I've put a review of the meike grip d300/700 in the review section. I have two. Both see long sustained use in horrendous conditions and have never failed. Each cost less than £50.

Spend your money on something in the optical chain where it actually matters...
