Grips...

Im finding my 400d a bit on the light side at times and struggling to keep it stable. I was thinking a grip would be the best way to sort out this issue?

Would the BG-E3 be the best way to go or are the Non Canon offerings just as good?

Most people would probably agree that the third party ones are just as good as the Canon ones.
I have an Opteka one on my 350d which is very good and am going to order a Link Delight one for my newly acquired 40d. Phottix are another name to look out for.

Don't think the BG-E3 will fit a 40D

Think it's a BG-E2 or BG-EN2 you need.

As for 3rd party I think Phottix get good words.
