Ground Beetle (Pterostichus madidus?)

Not sure if this is worthy or not.

The black of the beetle was damned hard to get right seeing as I had to use thr ringflash to light the shot - it was taken at ground level in the garden the other night. I figure it is the common ground beetle Pterostichus madidus.

I don't know anything about beetles, but next time try covering the left or right hand side
of the ring flash with black card to give a bit less frontal light. It should help a lot with this type of shot.
