im doing a photo shoot soon at a gun club where there having a compertiton where they have to shoot a box with a tiny hole init which hits a bell and the winner is who hits it the most out of 10 but i was trying to think of some intresting ways of taking the pictures instead of just side on(head on id get shot) so any takes on this?

the head on shots can be safely done, so don't discount that.

As long as you stage it in a safe area away from the range and you ensure the gun is unloaded, for extra piece of mind ask the subject to leave the breech open.

Also shooting over the subjects shoulder along the line of the rifle looks good with a slight oof on the target.

Put your camera by the target or in front of them and use a long timer .... assuming they are good shots and will not shoot ya lens!
