That's pretty cool. Anyone tried it yet? Seems as though the camera needs to be connected to a PC for it to work properly, so not really a great solution.

Very interested to hear has anyone tried it as well, the comments on the site seem to believe it works very well and doesnt wreck the camera or anything.

Not a great solution but if you have a laptop it makes it a little more portable

The thread starter "Dataghost" has succeeded in hacking his 40D to record AVIs direct to the memory card, no PC involved. He has indicated that it should also work with 450D but no details of how.
