Hahnel HW433 N80

Hi all, my mate bought the above remote shutter release for his D3200 and reckons it doesn't fit! Is this correct?
If so is there an adapter that can be used or has he made a boo-boo??

There is a good chance they bought the wrong thing, the D3200 uses a not particularly common/standard accessory port.

I'm not a Nikon user but it looks like he needs a HRN 280
