Hama camera straps

Damn. It looked good value. The neck padding is great (the Nikon one is so uncomfortable). but there's one problem with my Hama camera strap.
I can't thread the triangle shaped metal ends through my D5300, they seem to be just a touch too big. Wish I had longer nails :( Any suggestions anyone?
Can't really afford another type and the Hama box is in bits too.

Wait for your nails to grow...then try again (y)

...sorry, nothing more constructive than that im afraid. Ive had the same issues with an Optech wrist strap and a Fuji X20. I just had to keep trying until I have no feeling left in my fingers :D

Hi Shirley, I'm kind of glad I'm not the only one who has came across this problem
Just found some Hama split rings on Amazon for £10 :( The round type though. Looks like I'm gonna have to buy those.
I don't want to force the triangle ones onto the camera, I'm scared of damaging the camera.
Cheers

Can't you use the original Nikon ones? If you also mean the strap, try and feed it through and use a safety pin to catch it the other side, this method has worked for me before.

Hi guys
Simon, I bought a Hama one because it had a thick foam padding for the neck area (The Nikon one rubbed badly against sunburn on my trip last year to India) Thanks for your idea of the safety pin though.

I have finally managed to tread the metal rings through the Nikon camera, a nail file helped a bit and the second one seemed to go through a little easier.

Cheers
