What are the advantages of using one in a studio?

I've noticed a few people use them in the studio and quite a few experienced togs not use them.

Main advantage is you can accurately measure each light individually, so you know you are getting the desired results. After a light is moved then a new reading is needed, obviously this can be guessed or you can review on the screen to see the result so depends on how you like to work. In honesty I use one more in the field than in the studio.

Also you can measure the light falling on the subject, rather than the light reflected by the subject.

Thats the main advantage, taking incidence readings rather than reflective ones, you get a more accurate exposure
