Just reading up about a rumour/myth that one of the Munchkins hung himself on set during the making of The Wizard of Oz. Story goes that he was in love with one of his fellow actors, and this is supposedly what led to his death.
The rumour begun to circulate around the time of the DVD release back in 1989.

My opinion? That's a large bird - possibly a Pelican. It looks to its right as they approach and walk past, just after the scarecrow trips. Apparently they let several wild birds loose on the indoor set to create some sort of authenticity.
