It's better in that you can tell it's pretty big. I've never seen it in reality of course, but try different angles and viewpoints, maybe wait for better lighting either early morning or late evening?
It's never easy getting the best out of a subject like this and there's no magic formula. But you'll know when you've got the shot you want. Just keep at it. I don't suppose there's any chance they'd let you take shots within the yard? Might be worth asking.
