Has anybody ordered prints from Snapfish?

I've ordered the glossy prints before, for holiday snaps etc from holidays and general picture taking with my old point and shoot - and was perfectly happy with them...

I'm going to print out some of my pictures that I;ve taken over the past week with the new camera, but was going to get them printed in 'matt' - has anyone got pics printed in matt paper from them before? Is it like that textured matt paper or is it just smooth paper with the glossy sheen taken off?

I mean I'm not expecting pro-quality prints - I just have some pre-paid prints left and want to get an idea of what my pics look like on paper - I've already looked into pro-labs in my area once my camera 'skillz' improve..

Just wanted to get an idea of what I could expect..
 
Funnily enough I ordered a photobook from them, it arrived this morning - it's appalling :(

Oh dear... Sorry to hear about your photobook - you should ring them up and complain - if it's not the quality they say it will be, then it;s not fit for purpose!!! What was wrong with it?

See, I've found their glossy prints from my old P&S digi cam absolutely fine - the only time they went a bit funny was if I cropped them and tried to edit them - because the pics were such a small resolution, they came out a bit skew-iff.. For the most part though they were great, a fair price paid..

Ah well, as I said, these are remaining credit for prints that I'd prepurchased AGES ago, so no MAJOR loss if they come out and they're naff - it was only £1.49 postage for about 200 odd pictures...

If they're dogs-doo-doo, I'll just fork out and get them printed somewhere more reputable.. :)
 
I ordered 130 prints from them about 3 weeks ago, just standard prints....i have to say i was really pleased with the quality, they were doing an offer of 40 free prints and i thought the delivery and quality were fantastic, no complaints from me :D
 
I've always printed with snapfish. Matt prints are always very nice, I now always choose matt over glossy. I've never had any trouble with them either... Sorry to hear about the photobook rob.
 
I've only ever used snapfish for 2 big 30x20 prints. Both came back with big marks, covered in paper dust, and weren't even sharp. I complained and it fell on deaf ears so I've never used them again.

What's the matt paper like? Is it textured - like grainy almost to the touch?
 
I used the freebie print offer and most of them came out nicely.. I tend to us togsprint for the larger prints (not that I've done many...)
 
I used them all the time when I first got my camera and the matte finish was quite nice. If you are just starting then I'd say start off with them, in my opinion they are much better than boots.
 
Ok cool - but for those of you who have bought prints in matt, is the photo paper finely grained?! :lol: That's the only real question I wanted to know an answer to :lol:
 
I prefer to use snapfish TBH, though never had their matt prints.
The books always turn out well too, unless of course it's a gift for sister-in-law and you can guarantee that there'll be a family row about her wanting something else in the book too.... long (and expensive) story.
Their mugs aren't the best though, their keyrings are ok.
 
I had the same experience with Photobooks. I ordered two and both had indentations on each page in exactly the same place.

They returned them to me saying nothing was wrong with them and that I should check my layout properly before ordering in future!

When I finally got to speak to a person they realised I wasn't going to be fobbed off and I got a full refund. Never used them since.
