Has anyone had a repair done at Nikon recently?

Hi,

I damaged my camera and lens yesterday, :thumbsdown: and, as it is Sunday, can’t ring Nikon for a quote.

I just want to get 24hrs ahead of the game by seeing if anyone can give me and indication of what the going rate is for the following repairs.

1. Bayonet replacement on a long prime such as a 200 f2, 300 f2.8, 400 f2.8, 500 f4, 600 f4 – as they should all be similarly priced.

2. Bayonet(?)replacement on a D3 derived body. (the silver ring that accepts the lens and locks it into place).

Any help would be appreciated,

It depends what other damage has been done! The bayonet connectors may have electric connectors to change aperture and autofocus. And these connectors then link to circuit boards which if they are damaged the price starts to rise steeply.

I realise that it is a 'how long is a piece of string' question, but I can't remember whether this kind of repair is £30, £130, or £330 for a straight bayonet replacement. There must be members who can give me an indication,
