Has the recession affected your freebies!!!

Last year I had 3 week to view diaries, bottles of spirits and few other freebies handed out by my suppliers and their reps........This year not even a Calender:'( and I still give them the same trade if not more.....Anyone else find this?????



by the way if anyone has too many diaries (A4 size) or a daily planner for the wall that they don't need :lol:
 
yup here too but we have a trade show in end of january and we normally pick loads of free motorcycle freebies key chains , dairys , posters , a few years back i got a limited edition book with some of the biggest names in superbike in with there auto biogs etc

normall nick **** loads of pens too sign up for this free comp and i get a free pen he he


i did use to end up getting drunk when most reps bought us bottles of bubbly and wine and cases and case of free booze there is only a few of us here so normally have plent of drink for christmas but this year its all dried up

maybe there trying to tell me something this year lol

I have a small hall of frebies so far,

2 Crates of beer,
3 or 4 Leather Diariers A4
2 Cardboard glossy A4 Diaries
3 Calenders
Calculater mousepad
a stand for your phone
Coffee cup
Pens, highlighters, rulers

I'm just waiting for another couple crates of beer and sweets from other customers/suppliers.
 
Even last year the diaries/calendars dried up. None so far this year either. At least we don't have to worry about accepting gifts any more ...
 
I rarely receive but I do hand them out. Or, at least, I used to. I don't think we shall this year.

Don't usually get much, but I do get a desk jotter (a3ish) which comes in bloody handy - Luckily, I've got a 2010 spare, so will have to use that, with the wrong dates on!

I'm wiating for one of those they are really handy :) much better then diaries and crappy mouse matts, because we are a factory the calenders we recieve are far from tasteful :S.
 
Not bad here either, so far:

3 x A4 diaries
1 x A5 diary
3 x wallplanners
3 calendars, (1 with very tasty cars)
1 phoneholder (but my desire didn't fit until I modded it!)
1 x bottle of whisky
3 x bottles of wine
1 x box of 4 half-bottles of wine
1 box of mince pies
Assorted notepads, keyrings and pens
1 crate of lager.

I will be giving loads away, though.

Was the rep slightly tipsy when he gave them to you after drinking half the contents :p
 
Not a thing.

And just to rub it in I missed two Crimbo parties thanks to a blooming chest infection and not had a Christmas party now for 14 years!

Bah flippin' HUMBUG!
 
There have been a few of the regular choccies etc rolling in from some of our clients - no sign of any booze yet.

I reckon the fact that we're doing a lot of work for free or at a severely reduced rate should mean they at least send a few bottles our way...

you could always give them all away to me :lol:
 
As a civil servant we have to refuse all freebies. Any that are left for us have to be handed to senior management, head for HQ iirc, never to be seen again. Oh to work in the private sector and get Christmas bonuses like this. Not that it'll be much of a problem any more, my Christmas present this year is being told I might be out of a job soon.

I only used to get freebies when I used to be the one boxing them up and sending 'em out! Had to be careful and do it last thing on christmas eve, before the top brass came in and took the left overs home as their christmas bonus!

Might get a diary or 2 and a pen if I'm lucky.
 
I actually worked as a civil servant many years ago and I always accepted the gifts and Freebies......I used to get enough booze to open my own bar LOL
