Hasselblad dummie

Can anybody explain to my Hasselblad cameras?! Why they cost up to £27,000.00?!
If I knew more about them, probably I would know, but they are complete enigma to me. You can't actually come in Jessops or any High Street shop and play with them....did anyone had any experience with them?

Um yeah.....I've got a baby one.

Build quality like a Swiss watch, h-u-g-e sensors, skin tones to die for and glass that makes other people's best efforts look like coke bottles.

One of the main reasons they cost so much is that they don't sell that many Very few people need them.

I just got an email the other day inviting me to a morning shooting on one of their new toys in their new studio with a pro model. In the afternoon they are going to teach me how to use their software properly. All free.

Seems you are going to have fun! Hasselblad seems so out of my range, but I am very impressed about quality and what they stand for. There was a great documentary about american photographer Annie Liebovitz and she was talking about her photography and Hasselblad cameras. I felt very little

all cameras have purpose and different space they are filling. hassy and other MF digitals are filling in a very small space. even for fashion magazines 70% togs use fullframe nikon/canon/sony's . MF's are best for togs who make money from galleries and then eventually they make enough that they can shoot only on LF and have MF for lazy days.
MF is now loosing the aristocracy and starting to make sensors to compete with small format, sensors that can shoot over iso400, have higher buffer speeds etc and making a package that costs you about 10k which is not bad at all considering a Nikon d3x + 24-70 will cost you roughly about 6.5-7k .

true ! and in the end what matters is - are you having fun, is your model having fun and do you like your pics and if your lucky - your client loves the pics as well.
